Last Sunday of Every Month at 4pm Main Hall, St Herbert’s School
A Churches Together in Keswick Venture
How can we reach out to people beyond our church doors? Sunday 4 U is a new opportunity to show Christian love and friendship to families living around St Herbert’s school.
Sunday 4 U has been run successfully for four years by Crosthwaite church, with meetings held in the parish rooms involving local families. But this venture has now been taken on by Churches Together in Keswick and in the future, Sunday 4 U will be held at St Herbert’s School, hopefully making it a welcoming and accessible venue for families from that part of Keswick.
The ‘service’ will be held once a month, and will consist of half an hour of fun activities, songs, a reading and a prayer based on a theme. This will be followed by half an hour for tea and an opportunity to meet people.
For this to be a genuine Churches Together in Keswick venture we need volunteers from all the churches to be involved. It is especially important that we have volunteers from St John’s as the area surrounding St Herbert’s school is in our parish.
The proposal is that 3 teams are set up so that volunteers only have to help at the most once a term. If you are able to volunteer to help with:
- leading from the front
- running fun activities
- technological support (setting up power point shows)
- making and serving tea
