Donations & Bequests

Keswick St. John is a beautiful church in a commanding location serving the spiritual needs of the people of Keswick. We aim to maintain it to a high standard so that we may bequeath it as a vibrant, healthy church to the next generation. We have recently spent nearly £32,000 on major repairs to the tower and roof together with strengthening a retaining wall and improving drainage in the churchyard. Also included are treatment of woodworm, removal of asbestos, renewal of the PA system and provision of a more economical lighting system. We are about to embark on repairs to some of the stained glass windows.

Carrying out this work would not have been possible if we were dependent only on our normal regular income which struggles to meet our ordinary expenditure. While the main source of finance for undertaking this sort of work is bequests for which we are always very grateful, we are also very pleased to receive donations at any time from friends, visitors, or anyone interested in furthering the work of Keswick St. John. If you are able to Gift Aid your donation this makes it 25% more worthwhile to the Church without any additional cost to you. For anyone not familiar with Gift Aid, our Hon. Treasurer, Cliff Hale on 017687 73718, will be pleased to advise you.

If you feel able to help us by sending a gift, cheques should be made out to the “P.C.C. of Keswick St.John” and sent to St. John’s Vicarage, Ambleside Road, KESWICK, Cumbria. CA12 4DD.
